Description

The night before this shot was taken, Mammoth (Dave's Run) was covered in 24" of fresh snow. Nothing in this world to me is more exhilarating than boarding in fresh, soft, dry powder! All stress, worries and troubles are non-existent during these moments of pure nirvana!

All C/C is welcome and appreciated and I promise, this doesn't fall under the manipulation category! See maw, no moon!

Even though I hate winter, cold, and snow this is a lovely image. The tracks in the snow add an abstract look to the shot. Well done Tom.

Impressive place!

Can understand your passion and joy going down those powdered mountain slops.

No moon so you are definitely safe!

Maybe would have been even more powerful with less shadowed sections of the mountain and a little more pure white coming from the snow (as in the original version).

Great sense of depth!

Great lighting here Tom but the photo needs another element ... a moon maybe???

I like the tire marks in the snow. They appear to be more like scribbles made by a child's pencil or crayon.

eerie yet beautiful, it's awesome! kinda looks like the moon as well

well, this must of been a hard shot to get so i don't know if it could of been avoided but the misty snow on the right of the photo is a bit distracting.

I wanted a surreal look to this image and it appears I've done my job in postprocessing (adjustment levels). I've read the word "eerie" and that's how I wanted the viewer to feel! Riding this stuff, I feel something not of this world! It's total bliss...

Holy avocado! The original is a great image, to be sure, but your adjustments take this to a whole other level--a whole other world, as has been noted. Definitely nailed this one. It's surreal but highly convincing. You captured such beautiful textures in the snow, and the adjusted colors make a fantastic combination.
